• Buddy tripsProper ferry-golf territory. Drive down, play Les Cygnes one day and Le Belvedere the next, and treat the river as part of the fun; the 12th and 18th on Les Cygnes are the two that do the damage.
• SocietiesTwo courses at one club keeps a touring group together for a couple of days, and the walking is moderate rather than punishing. Build in a long lunch; the chateau setting invites it.
• Higher handicapsExpect to reload once or twice; the river is in play far more often than the woodland setting suggests and the valley breeze is rarely still. There is enough slope that some pairs take a buggy for the second round.
