About Chateau des Vigiers, Monestier
The luxury resort of Chateau des Vigiers, in the Dordogne, South of France, is worth returning to again and again. Everything at this outstanding French golf holiday resort near Bergerac, tells a story of restful elegance.
The 16th century main house is home to 25 traditional bedrooms. Here you’ll also find sumptuous lounges to relax in before dinner in the Michelin-starred restaurant. You can also choose to dine at the informal clubhouse brasserie, restyled for this year.
Next door to the chateau, there are a further 22 bedrooms (all large and some laid out on two floors) in the Dependances. Here you can enjoy an aperitif on your own patio.

Quiet countryside estate
This is deep Dordogne countryside, so evenings revolve around the estate rather than a run of bars. You are not marooned, though: two restaurants sit within walking distance and another three are a short drive out. The nearest village, Razac-de-Saussignac, is 1.4km away, and La Bastide makes an easy outing at 4.9km. Be straight with your group: nights here are quiet, and that is rather the point. Non-players get country walks and proper peace. Tell us who is coming and we will pick the base that fits your evenings.

Evenings here are quiet by design; if your group wants a lively town on foot, this is not the base.
