ABOUT THE HOTEL

The luxury resort of Chateau des Vigiers, in the Dordogne, South of France,  is worth returning to again and again. Everything at this outstanding French golf holiday resort near Bergerac, tells a story of restful elegance.

The 16th century main house is home to 25 traditional bedrooms. Here you’ll also find sumptuous lounges to relax in before dinner in the Michelin-starred restaurant. You can also choose to dine at the informal clubhouse brasserie, restyled for this year.

Next door to the chateau, there are a further 22 bedrooms (all large and some laid out on two floors) in the Dependances. Here you can enjoy an aperitif on your own patio.

For an even quieter location at Chateau des Vigiers, reserve a bedroom in the eco-friendly Relais building beyond the clubhouse.  This is home to another 40 bedrooms offering contemporary four-star comfort at lower prices than the main chateau.

The spa is exceptional and offers an ideal compromise for couples where only one of you is addicted to golf.

You are never far from the first tee of Vigiers Golf Club, with the three loops of nine surrounding the hotel.  The estate’s own vineyards and orchards also decorate the extensive estate. You can self-drive from the ports or Eurotunnel in Northern France, enjoying an overnight stay as you travel through France.

Or you can fly directly into local airports, including Bordeaux and Bergerac. Private transfers can be arranged or hire a car and explore. The historic town of  Bergerac is 30 minutes away or for an away golf day play the the superb Grand Saint Emilionnais Golf Club.
