4.997 reviewsThanks Talia, glad we could finally get you back to Le Touquet! We look forward to arranging your next holiday. Simon and the team.
Golf Planet Holidays organised a fantastic golf trip to France for us. Everything was perfectly arranged, and the communication was excellent. Simon and Heather were incredibly helpful throughout. Highly recommended!
About Champagne Golf Club
Champagne Golf Club is 25 minutes from both Reims and Epernay. This undulating and quite open course is ideal for less-experienced golfers to enjoy a fair test, impressive vistas and a warm welcome. With water coming into play on three holes Golf de Champagne does have its challenges but there are plenty of opportunities to score well.

Our take
The hardest thing about Golf de Champagne is the start, because the opening two holes are the toughest on the card.
- Higher handicapsThis course was made for you: open fairways, a gentle rise and fall, water on only a handful of holes and a warm welcome. Get through the first two and chances to score keep coming.
- SocietiesTwenty-five minutes from both Reims and Epernay, so it drops neatly into a champagne itinerary. Open enough that a group of mixed abilities gets round together without anyone holding the field up.
- Serious golfersOnce the opening two holes are behind you, better players will find it gentle. The breeze across this open ground is the only lasting defence, so treat it as a scoring day.

What you are actually facing
The walk. Flat, and an easy walk — 34 metres of climb over the round.
The wind. The wind is usually south-westerly, averaging 12 km/h, gusting to 43. It is the club selection that catches people out, not the yardage.
The water. 6 hazards in play. Bring a few more balls than you think you need.
The design. Jean-Claude Cornillot.
The holes that will cost you. The 1st and the 2nd. The 1st is the one you will be talking about afterwards.
