There are so many advantages to a winter Golf Planet holiday in Cape Town and the Western Cape of South Africa it’s difficult to list them all. However, we will have a go.
Firstly, the lack of time difference. Take an overnight flight from the frosty UK and arrive in the sunshine of a Cape Town morning. It means that a week’s holiday is perfectly doable. Pack this full of superb rounds of golf, excellent dining and memorable sightseeing and you have the holiday of a lifetime.
Then you have the wonderful range of accommodation. With the South African rand great value against the British pound, you can splash out on a top quality hotel or stay in a luxury guest house near the golf courses in Cape Town. In addition, there are numerous excellent restaurants. Away from the city, the hotels and guest houses around Stellenbosch and Somerset West are superb and just a golf ball throw from the wonderful golf courses in this historic area.
Moving on to the golf courses. Golf in South Africa is exceptionally popular, not only with tourists but with the residents. So, the courses are kept in immaculate condition with great hospitality, for before, afterwards and halfway round! Do leave space in your itinerary to explore the area. You can enjoy wine tasting after a round of golf or take a day to go to Robben Island. Of course, Table Mountain is tantalising close or head out to Boulders Bay.
