There’s so much on offer in South Africa, it can be difficult to know where to start when you are looking for a winter sun golf holiday in this beautiful country.
Our Golf Planet Holidays PGA Professional Nigel Burch played and coached on the Sunshine Tour of South Africa and has the contacts and knowledge to create your dream itinerary.
Nigel says: “If you’ve got a week to spare, Cape Town is the ideal base. You can see so much and play some wonderful golf just in this one area.
“To make the most of your stay we are happy to arrange dedicated drivers who can pick you up from the airport, escort you to and from the excellent golf courses in this area and even show you the sights.”
Nigel’s March 2020 escorted tour around The Cape is full but he’s busy planning his 2021 group trip. He’s also arranging bespoke South African golf holidays for our clients for this winter around The Cape and another favourite spot, Durban.
“The Cape is my second home and I’ll be out there again this winter catching up on all the latest golfing news, checking out my favourite restaurants and of course welcoming our clients. I can’t wait.”
• Nigel’s favourite South African wine: Boekenhoutskloof Syrah: it’s the full monty.
• What you must try: It has to be food. Either Kudu Biltong, a delicious snack, or Bobotie, a spiced meat dish guaranteed to improve your golf swing!
• One top tip you won’t find in the guidebooks: Head to Houts Bay and the Terrace Restaurant at Chapman’s Peak Beach Hotel and order the calamari. You won’t forget either the food or the view.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a golf holiday in South Africa cost?

Tailor-made golf breaks in South Africa start from £125 (≈ €145) (≈ $165) (≈ CA$235) (≈ AU$235) (≈ NZ$285) (≈ CHF 125) per person, including your hotel, green fees and airport transfers. Every package is built around your group, dates and handicaps.

Do you arrange flights to South Africa?

Flights can be added as an ATOL-protected option, or you book your own and we handle everything on the ground — private transfers, tee times and buggies.

Is my money protected?

Yes. Every booking is financially protected through Protected Trust Services (PTS) — your money is held safely in trust until you have travelled. Flight-inclusive trips are also ATOL protected.

Can I tailor the trip?

Always. We don’t sell off-the-shelf packages — every South Africa break is built personally around your group, your preferred courses and your dates.
