• Serious golfersThe opening hole is the hardest on the course, so arrive warmed up rather than straight from the car park. Immaculate parkland, well-defended greens, Seve's rebuilt bunkering, and the 14th ready to undo a good back nine.
• Buddy tripsThis is the exclusive round of a Costa del Sol week, the one the group still mentions a year later. Visitor access is limited, so tell us early and we will plan the rest of the trip around it.
• Higher handicapsFairer than the private-club billing suggests. Bark chippings along many fairways mean a wayward drive is usually found and played rather than lost, and with a decent amount of climb in the round most groups take buggies.
