ABOUT THE GOLF COURSES

The West course at Saunton Golf Club in Devon is a Championship course in its own right. It arguably needs even more course management skill than its wonderful East course neighbour. This is a thinker’s course where distance is not important. It’s a great course and, if you know how to play links, you’ll love and respect this clever layout. Previous host to many English Amateur championships.

Saunton Golf Club’s East Golf Course is a great links course. The strength of this layout lies in the long Par 4 holes which usually require a driver off the tee.

As with all challenging links courses, the wind plays an important part in the club selection process. So be prepared to lose a couple of strokes (and balls) in your first round. The first four holes are the ones most likely to cause damage to your card so make sure you loosen up beforehand.

The entire course features large sand dunes with sheltered greens and runs in all directions. All together Saunton Golf Club’s East course is an incredible test of your game.
