ABOUT THE GOLF COURSE

Saint Cloud, Versailles,  is the closest golf course to Paris and currently rates 29th in France.  It  was laid out in 1913 by the revered Harry Colt and offers 36 holes of very enjoyable golf. Some of the holes have  fabulous views across to the Arc de Triomphe in the capital city.

The Green course is 6500 yards, par 71 and a super parkland challenge. Your putting must be on song as the greens are small and well-guarded so you’ll have to make a few “one putts for par”.  The Yellow course is a cute 5400 yards, par 68 but is very tight so leave your driver in the bag.

This is an overlooked area of France for golf holidays.  You can combine superb courses with fantastic sightseeing. It’s incredible value in the summer when the French members head off to the coast.
