About Saint Cloud Golf Club
Saint Cloud, Versailles, is the closest golf course to Paris and currently rates 29th in France. It was laid out in 1913 by the revered Harry Colt and offers 36 holes of very enjoyable golf. Some of the holes have fabulous views across to the Arc de Triomphe in the capital city.
The Green course is 6500 yards, par 71 and a super parkland challenge. Your putting must be on song as the greens are small and well-guarded so you’ll have to make a few “one putts for par”. The Yellow course is a cute 5400 yards, par 68 but is very tight so leave your driver in the bag.
This is an overlooked area of France for golf holidays. You can combine superb courses with fantastic sightseeing. It's incredible value in the summer when the French members head off to the coast.

Our take
Harry Colt laid out Saint Cloud in 1913 and it remains the closest course to Paris and one of the classiest, 36 holes ranked 29th in France.
- Serious golfersColt's small, well-guarded greens are the whole examination; miss on the wrong side and you will do well to escape with par. The Green course, 6,500 yards and par 71, is the round to book.
- SocietiesThirty-six holes on one flat estate means a full day's golf without moving the group, and some holes look clear across to the Arc de Triomphe, which nobody forgets to mention at dinner.
- CouplesThe most convenient serious golf if you are basing yourselves in Paris; a morning round here still leaves the whole afternoon for the city.

What you are actually facing
The wind. The wind is usually south-westerly, averaging 11 km/h, gusting to 34. It is the club selection that catches people out, not the yardage.
The design. Harry Colt.
