About Rhuys-Kerver Golf Club
THE GOLF COURSE
Rhuys-Kerver Golf Club in Brittany is a gem for lovers of classic seaside golf and bird life! A round here on your golf break will show you another side of this beautiful region.
As well as the adjacent Atlantic Ocean, there’s water on the course too. The greens are small but the fairways are wide but, as with most good links, it’s how you run the ball that’s more important than how far or how high you hit it.
Easy walking and surrounded by bird reserves, Rhuys-Kerver is well worth a round on your golf break, and make sure to take your camera out on the 12th tee to capture the ocean view.

Our take
Proper ground game golf beside the Atlantic: wide fairways get you round, small greens and a steady breeze decide the scoring.
- Serious golfersHow you run the ball matters more than how far you hit it here. The fairways are wide, the greens are small and the sea breeze rarely rests, so the classic links skills earn their keep.
- Higher handicapsWide fairways and a flat, easy walk make it a friendly place to swing, but the two hardest holes are the 1st and the 5th, so the damage tends to come before you have warmed up. Fifteen water hazards want respect too.
- Non-golfersThe course sits among bird reserves beside the Atlantic, and the birdlife is a genuine event in itself; a non-playing partner can fill the morning happily while the golf gets settled.

What you are actually facing
The walk. Flat, and an easy walk — 14 metres of climb over the round.
The wind. The wind is usually westerly, averaging 14 km/h, gusting to 46. It is the club selection that catches people out, not the yardage.
The water. 15 hazards in play. Bring a few more balls than you think you need.
The design. Olivier Brizon.
The holes that will cost you. The 1st, the 5th and the 18th. The 1st is the one you will be talking about afterwards.
