About Poggio dei Medici Golf Club
Surrounding the UNA Poggio dei Medici Golf and Resort, this USGA-spec course is perfect for holiday golf. Several of the holes have water obstacles and subtle challenges that take a couple of rounds to figure out. Overall, very fair and most enjoyable and there’s even a chance of a birdie or two...If you can master the large and contoured greens. Hilly in parts. 48 miles east of Montecatini.

Our take
Holiday golf is what Poggio dei Medici was built for, a fair USGA spec par 73 wrapped around its own resort hotel, though the greens take some learning.
- Serious golfersThe subtle stuff takes a couple of rounds to figure out, which is the best argument for staying on site and playing it twice. There are nine water hazards out there, so pick your moments.
- Higher handicapsFair means fair here, with birdie chances for anyone who can hold the large contoured greens. The ground stays flat throughout, so legs are never the issue, only those greens.
- CouplesWith the hotel right on the course and Tuscany all around, one of you can play while the other explores, then compare notes over dinner.
