• Serious golfersTwo different exams in one round: the sea facing nine wants an extra club into the breeze, while the target nine punishes any approach without conviction. The 12th and the 14th are where good rounds go to die.
• Higher handicapsWith more than twenty water hazards and target holes that give you nowhere to bail out, ration the ambition and play for the middle of everything. The ocean nine is the reward, whatever the scorecard says.
• Buddy tripsPair it with Saint Laurent and you have the backbone of a south Brittany golf trip. The walking is flat all the way round, so nobody needs a buggy and nobody has an excuse.
