ABOUT THE GOLF COURSE

Pleneuf Val Andre Golf Club in north Brittany mixes some brilliant links holes with some tough parkland holes and the wind can often add to the challenge. It is one of France’s best modern courses.

Perched on a coastal site, Val Andre, designed by Alain Prat in 1992, sets out fairly gently and distance will help you early on, though your directional skills are severely tested over the excellent turn.

With the clubhouse in sight, the last few holes are shorter but tighter.  The course is about 6500 yards off the very back tees and is mostly easy-walking.  It is well worth the drive from Dinard or St Malo.  Pleneuf Val Andre is a first-class test of golf and should be on the list to play wherever you’re staying in north Brittany.
