What golfers say about Spain
4.997 reviews
If you are going to play golf, there's nothing better than playing in the sunshine so my wife and I had an item on our bucket list to take a month driving around the Iberian peninsula playing golf, staying at good hotels and eating well! …
We recently used Golf planet Holidays for our annual golf trip to Spain, I can honestly say that the service provided was second to none, an absolutely first class experience.. well done the team at Golf planet holidays..
About La Estancia Golf Course
La Estancia Golf Club reminds you of the traditional links course. Designed by Alan Rijks, the course is flat with some water hazards and trees, but the main battle you will face is against the prevailing winds as you head out and back. It's a very natural looking course, so there is plenty of flora and fauna to admire.

Our take
The wind is the whole examination at La Estancia, a flat, natural links-style course near the Melia Sancti Petri where you battle the breeze out and back.
Serious golfersLength matters less than flight here. The prevailing wind leans on you heading out and again coming home, and the 4th and 13th are the two holes where a mis-club costs most.
Higher handicapsFlat with barely 55 metres of climb and not much water to find, it is a kind, easy walk. The breeze is the real defence, so club up and swing easy.
CouplesAn easy, natural course to walk together, with plenty of flora and wildlife between holes and the Melia Sancti Petri close by. Choose a calm morning and it is a gentle day out for two.
Tell us who’s coming and how you like to play, and we’ll shape the right trip around you.
The walk. Flat, and an easy walk — 55 metres of climb over the round.
The wind. The wind is usually easterly, averaging 15 km/h, gusting to 44. It is the club selection that catches people out, not the yardage.
The water. 4 hazards in play. Bring a few more balls than you think you need.
The design. Alan Rijks.
The holes that will cost you. The 4th, the 13th and the 10th. The 4th is the one you will be talking about afterwards.
