About Golf International de Bresson Golf Club
Located on a plateau above Grenoble, Bresson Golf course was designed by the renowned Robert Trent Jones. The course boasts his trademark philosophies: wide fairways, plenty of bunkers and triple-tiered greens. Although Bresson doesn’t come with the reputation of some of RTJ’s other courses, it does come with sensational views of the Vercors mountain range. We like Bresson and the five sets of tees (between 6800 yards and 5145 yards) allow pretty much any golfer to enjoy it.

Our take
Robert Trent Jones Jr built Bresson on a plateau above Grenoble with his trademarks intact, wide fairways, serious bunkering and triple-tiered greens, all framed by the Vercors range.
- Serious golfersThe backs stretch to 6,800 yards and the real defence is the triple-tiered greens; finish on the wrong shelf and you are staring at three putts, however well you drove it.
- Higher handicapsWide fairways, not a single water hazard, and five sets of tees running down to 5,145 yards; drop to the tee that fits your game and the Vercors views come free.
- SocietiesFlat to walk from first to last, and the wind rarely gets involved despite the plateau, so mixed abilities all get round comfortably while the bunkers and big greens separate the prizes.

What you are actually facing
The wind. The wind is usually north-westerly, averaging 4 km/h. It is the club selection that catches people out, not the yardage.
