About Espiche Golf Club
The greens and fairways of Espiche Golf course near Lagos are carefully placed to balance the demands of the golfer and the environment. The native planting throughout creates a beautiful backdrop and some challenging obstacles.
Bunkers guard most greens while the greens themselves are large and undulating. Espiche Golf course is a shot-maker’s course, where each hole poses a new challenge thanks to the variety of the layout.
Recent work has made the course fairer for holiday golfers and a number of the bunkers have been upgraded. It's a bit out of the way but well worth the drive.

Espiche asks you to plot your way round rather than batter it, a shot-maker's par 72 threaded through native planting near Lagos.
- Serious golfersThe variety is the appeal here. No two holes ask the same question, the greens are big and full of movement, and the 4th and the 10th are where good cards start to wobble.
- Higher handicapsOnly four water hazards and generous greens keep it friendly, but the native planting swallows anything loose, so keep the driver honest. A hundred metres of climb makes it a fair walk without being punishing.
- SocietiesAn easy add to a Lagos itinerary. Most greens are bunkered so approach play decides the money matches, and the moderate walk means nobody needs a buggy to enjoy it.
