About De la Bresse Golf Club
Golf de la Bresse is a lovely layout designed by Jeremy Pern more than 30 years ago. Don't relax too much when you see the beautiful setting as the well-maintained course has plenty of surprises in store for you. De La Bresse Golf Club is a very enjoyable day out but make sure you allow time for lunch in the excellent clubhouse.
La Bresse looks benign from the clubhouse terrace, but Pern hid surprises everywhere and each nine closes with a hole that has wrecked plenty of cards.
Serious golfersWater shapes almost every decision here, and the round builds to two closing holes, the 9th and the 18th, where a brave line either sets up the score or sinks it.
Higher handicapsPack a generous supply of balls; there is water waiting on what feels like every second shot. The flat walk, barely 50 metres of climb all round, at least keeps the legs fresh.
SocietiesBuild lunch into the plan, the clubhouse cooking deserves it, and the course is 40 minutes from Domaine du Gouverneur so it slots neatly into a Lyon-area itinerary.

The walk. Flat, and an easy walk — 49 metres of climb over the round.
The wind. The wind is usually northerly, averaging 10 km/h, gusting to 36. It is the club selection that catches people out, not the yardage.

How long is LeShuttle crossing time to France
The Eurotunnel LeShuttle from Folkestone to Calais takes about 35 minutes, which makes a self-drive trip genuinely easy for the Northern France golf resorts. Le Touquet, Hardelot and the courses around the Somme are roughly two to three hours on from Calais, so you can load the clubs, drive on and be on the first tee the same day, and on those breaks we can include the crossing in the price. For the south and southwest, such as Biarritz, the Riviera and Provence, most golfers fly into Nice, Marseille, Biarritz or Bordeaux and we arrange transfers on the ground.

Is it easy to get around in France?
Getting around France is straightforward. Self-driving is the most popular option — if you've come via Le Shuttle, you already have your car. Trains are excellent for city-to-city travel, particularly from Paris to Bordeaux (2 hours on the TGV). Within golf regions like the Algarve or Brittany, a hire car gives you the freedom to explore at your own pace. We include all airport or station transfers in our packages and can arrange inter-course transfers, so you're never left without options.
