About Pebble Beach Resorts – Golf Links Golf Course
Pebble Beach is an iconic golf course.Playing here will put a big grin on your face, whatever the score Around the turn and towards the end a run along and towards the coast and the views only add to the brilliant design. Overall, the course mixes parkland with links and some of the lesser-known holes are among the most difficult – not least because of the small greens. The service and ambience in the clubhouse complete an amazing day.

Our take
Pebble Beach earns its reputation the moment the round turns for the coast, and the small greens make sure the score matters as much as the view.
- Serious golfersThe lesser-known holes are among the hardest here, mostly down to those small greens, and cards have a habit of dying at the 14th before the famous 18th along the shore asks one last question.
- Higher handicapsYou will drop shots on greens this small, but buggies are included and there is nothing unfair about the design, so play from sensible tees and enjoy the round of your life.
- Buddy tripsBuild the whole California itinerary around this tee time; whatever the scores, the run home along the coast will be the story your group tells for years.

What you are actually facing
The walk. Moderate. 155 metres of climb over the round.
The wind. The wind is usually north-westerly, averaging 11 km/h, gusting to 37. It is the club selection that catches people out, not the yardage.
The water. 2 hazards in play. Bring a few more balls than you think you need.
The design. Jack Neville and Douglas Grant.
The holes that will cost you. The 14th, the 18th and the 2nd. The 14th is the one you will be talking about afterwards.
