Thanks to Simon for arranging our recent golf holiday to Italy. He was extremely knowledgable and efficient and a pleasure to deal with. Will definitely use this company again.

Our take

There is honest climbing at Golf Club Bologna, a good 160 metres of it, through a 1959 Cotton and Harris parkland freshened by Peter Alliss and trusted with the Italian Amateur many times.

How it plays

What you are actually facing

18holes
72par
6,386yards
161mof climb
4water hazards

The walk. Moderate. 161 metres of climb over the round.

The wind. The wind is usually south-westerly, averaging 8 km/h. It is the club selection that catches people out, not the yardage.

The water. 4 hazards in play. Bring a few more balls than you think you need.

The design. Ken Cotton and John Harris.

The holes that will cost you. The 6th, the 13th and the 3rd. The 6th is the one you will be talking about afterwards.
