Druids Glen Resort Golf Course

 

An immaculate USA-type target golf course in a very pretty part of Ireland.  This is a big course and has hosted the European Tour on various occasions.  The layout warms you up nicely before the challenge gets increasingly tough with some exception holes on the back nine and a spectacular finish.  Not a classic Irish golf course but a good design in lovely surroundings.

 

 

Slightly inland, this course still has all the traits of a links with its tall grasses, pot bunkers and large greens.  The fairways are generous but your approaches need to be high with spin or play it canny with a bump and run.  Superbly-maintained, the Heath and the original course make Druids Glen one of the finest 36 hole golf resorts in Europe.
