About
The Eastern Cape of South Africa is less developed than the Western Cape so presents a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the beautiful, raw nature of South Africa.
Golf Planet Holidays centres on St Francis Bay where there is excellent accommodation and at least two superb golf courses, St Francis Bay and St Francis Bay Links.
The Eastern Cape is rightly known as South Africa’s wild province. Easily accessible, it is a world of its own, brimming with flora and fauna. In addition it is a wonderful place for Big Five safaris.
You will also find strong history in the Eastern Cape with Xhosa cultural traditions and centuries old connections to British and Cape-Dutch architecture and language.
SEE THE BIG FIVE
Make sure to include a safari in your Eastern Cape itinerary. The Big Five, elephant, lion, leopard, African buffalo and the rhino are all to be found here.
In addition keep an eye on the wild and wonderful coast line. These are the perfect places to spot whales and dolphins during the migration periods.
The Eastern Cape is a great add-on for a Golf Planet Holiday around Cape Town or on the Garden Route. You will experience a completely different environment and enjoy some fantastic rounds of golf.
Our colleague Nigel Burch is based around Cape Town January to mid-March. He often heads up the coast to play some of his favourite courses and catch up with our clients.
When you can bear to tear yourself away, fly back to Cape Town from Port Elizabeth or wend your way back along the Garden Route, playing golf as you go.
