How We Ranked These Courses
Our rankings are based on four criteria: course conditioning (greens, fairways, presentation), design quality (layout, strategy, variety), facilities (clubhouse, practice areas, pro shop), and guest feedback from our own clients over 40+ years of organising golf holidays. Each course has been visited and assessed by our team.
1. Carya Golf Club — The Champion
Ranked #1 in Turkey by Golf Digest, Carya Golf Club is a heathland-style masterpiece that breaks from Belek’s predominantly parkland designs. Created by Thomson Perrett & Lobb, the course features heather-covered landscapes, dramatic bunkering, and strategically placed water hazards reminiscent of England’s Surrey heathland courses.
What truly sets Carya apart is its floodlit night golf — it was Europe’s first full 18-hole championship course to offer play under the stars. The course has hosted DP World Tour events (Turkish Airlines Open) and the conditioning is consistently immaculate.
- Par: 72 | Length: 7,086 yards | Designer: Thomson Perrett & Lobb
- Night golf: Yes — full 18 holes floodlit
- Our rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
- Stay at: Regnum Carya Golf & Spa Resort
2. Montgomerie Maxx Royal — The Tournament Course
Designed by eight-time European Order of Merit winner Colin Montgomerie, this championship layout at Maxx Royal Belek is one of Turkey’s most celebrated courses. The front nine threads through sand dunes and dense pine forest, while the back nine features dramatic elevation changes, strategic water hazards, and a grandstand-worthy finishing stretch.
The Montgomerie hosted the Turkish Airlines Open from 2013 to 2015, with the likes of Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and Justin Rose competing here. Like Carya, it also offers floodlit night golf.
- Par: 72 | Length: 6,957 yards | Designer: Colin Montgomerie

3. Cornelia Faldo Course — The Strategic Masterclass
Sir Nick Faldo designed this magnificent 27-hole complex at Cornelia Diamond Resort, creating three distinct loops — the Kings, Queens, and Prince nines. Each combination offers a different character, but all share Faldo’s trademark philosophy: generous fairways that tempt you to attack, with fiercely guarded greens that punish anything less than precision.
Regularly featured in Top 100 Golf Courses in Europe lists, the Faldo Course also boasts one of Turkey’s finest practice facilities, including a Golf Academy with professional coaching.
- Par: 72 (any 18-hole combination) | Holes: 27 | Designer: Sir Nick Faldo

The Sultan Course is a true championship examination, co-designed by European Golf Design and former tour professional David Jones. Known for its contoured and well-protected greens, mature tree-lined fairways, and strategic bunkering, the Sultan demands accuracy and course management above raw power.
This is the course where Justin Rose won the 2012 Turkish Airlines World Golf Final, and it continues to host international events. Its sister course, the Pasha, offers a slightly gentler alternative.

- Night golf: No
- Our rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4.5/5)
5. National Golf Club — The Classic

It has hosted Ladies European Tour events and provides an enjoyable test for golfers of all abilities. The conditioning is consistently excellent, and the peaceful atmosphere sets it apart from some of the busier resort courses.

As part of Turkey’s only 45-hole golf complex (Old, New, and Verde courses), staying at Gloria means you can play a different layout every day without leaving the resort.

7. Lykia Links — The One-of-a-Kind
Lykia Links is unlike anything else in Turkey, or indeed anywhere in the Mediterranean. Designed by Perry Dye, this true links course stretches along the coastline with firm, fast-running fairways, pot bunkers, fescue rough, and sea breezes that demand the full range of links shots.
If you have grown up playing links golf in Scotland or Ireland, Lykia Links will feel wonderfully familiar — yet the Mediterranean setting and year-round sunshine make it an entirely different experience.
