For the Real Spain, we concentrate on the destinations in the region (known as Andalucia) offering a heady mix of great golf, fun, a quality choice of accommodation and an authentic Spanish experience. Get ready for sunshine, flamenco, tapas and sweeping beaches.  And some of the best golf in Europe.

Andalucia  is host to over 3000 fiestas every year, you won’t be far away from a great party in Southern Spain.  Most fiestas start in the very early hours of the morning so check out the fiesta schedule with our staff and we’ll plan your tee-times to suit.  For Spain is all about surrendering yourself to their timetable and you’ll soon realise when an afternoon siesta is an essential part of the day.

The south-west of Spain features mile upon mile of wide, empty beaches, the region within Andalucia is called Costa de la Luz and includes historic towns, dramatic scenery, the Atlantic Ocean and some very fine golf courses.  Choose between staying in a lovely Town Hotel, a secluded retreat or one of the several sparking golf resorts such as Montecastillo and El Rompido.

Cadiz is very much on the Atlantic coastline and is a lively port with tiny lanes, lots of tapas bars and great beaches nearby.  Showing off its 18-Century Indies-trading wealth, Cadiz is cultured yet relaxed with the added attraction of being a focal point of the Sherry circuit.

“I’ll have what he’s having” – go with the flow and copy the locals.  In other words, don’t choose from the menu and enjoy the seasonal specialities.

A member of the Small Leading Hotels of the World, it’s a perfect golf and spa destination where one can relax, play some tennis and golf, go horse-riding, eat and drink well and enjoy the beautiful local Andalucian villages.

Arcos Gardens Golf & Country Estate near Arcos de la Frontera is a welcome addition to the golf resorts in Spain. A new spa in the clubhouse complements the boutique hotel and there are fairway suites alongside the stunning course. The Barcelo Montecastillo Resort is ever popular as is the Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course.

If you’re looking to escape to the sunshine and want a healthy dose of culture and good golf, then Jerez is a serious contender. Jerez is an ancient city, superbly located just inland from its own port (and fort) of Cadiz. Jerez was a major trading city protected by the sea on one side and mountains on the other. Of course, wine has long been an attraction and the Phoenicians, Romans, Moors and Christians have all controlled and exerted their influence over the city. Nowadays, Jerez highlights its culture with a deserved glee but also provides modern shopping districts and great access. Cherry-picking the sights, you must go to the Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, the Jerez wineries, Flamenco dancing and take a tour of the Grand Prix circuit (often used for Formula 1 testing). The region is renowned for its zoological and botanical exhibits and parks too. For golf, Sherry Golf, El Puerto, Novo Sancti Petri and Montecastillo make up an impressive and pretty quarter with designs by Nicklaus, Seve and Olazabal. Eating out is a real treat with specialities from both sea and land and with strong flavours and the freshest of ingredients. And after dinner, Jerez offers theatres, pubs, Flamence “Tablaos” and nightclubs. Temperatures are superb with a maximum of 28 C in summer and minimum of 11 C in winter. You can fly to Jerez via Gibraltar, Jerez and even Seville. Jerez is easy-to-get-to, inexpensive and very satisfying holiday.
